Ok to some of you it doesn't sound that important
but to me it is!
Thursday late at night, I was looking at small collages in CT hoping to find some kind of summer art program (hoping it would be better the what happened a couple weeks ago *grumble* but thats a differ story, if you all wanna hear it its a long rant)and at one of the collages they were doing a open portfolio review on Saturday! So after school Friday (after panicking all day at school) i printed out some of my animal drawings, some photoshop things i did when i was bored (i might upload them later) and my linolium prints (again might upload later, i believe *
babydragon11 has hers in her gallery)and slapped them in a portfolio book.
As you can see, i didn't have that much time (although some might dissagree) cuz i only had friday night to make it cuz i had to help my aunt out with my cousin's b-day party from the time i woke up till i had to leave for the review
On a side note for all who dont know my bro, hes probably the worst critic there is, i think hes worst then that guy on Americen idol, so living with him my whole life im pretty immune to any insult there is to my art (which is why you all should critique my art ><
Ok, so we get to the extremly small collage and went to the place there where doing the reveiw. And the guy seems nice enough (which mind you i found out later hes not the "love your art" kind of guy) and the FIRST thing he says is im pretty young to do this (*grumble*) but he does say after going through the portfolio it was very mature
EXCEPT he kindof went on a small rant because i did a photoshop copy of sora from Kingdom hearts and he sees him in like EVERY portfolio (so being a smart ass, after he was about to go on a second rant about it i took it out of the porfolio to shut him up
so much for me being mature)
So heres some stuff i learned:
Put only like 12 things in the portfolio (i had like 30
)
Go from worst drawing to best in the portfolio
Have a introduction (like your name, quick paragraph on what is in the portfolio, stuff like that on the first page)
DO NOT PUT FAMOUS CHARACTERS IN THERE
DONT TALK unless told to (cuz every time i said something or did something he attacked me)
Put some real drawings in there not all scan copies
I think it was funny cuz i think he was trying to make me cry cuz he mentioned 2 or 3 times that he wouldn't be suprised if some of his students broke down crying in the middle of class.
Overall he liked my art and if i wasn't a souphmore i would probably be excepted
. But its a small school like 300 students a year or something so idk if it means anything
So i probably will be doing allot of these portfolio review things in the near future. i just though it would be nice for you all to know im alive^^

Neglect
i havn't been on it forever!!!!! my subscribed ended and everything! D: im so sry! schools been so hecktic that i had no time to draw or come on here and then...well... i just lost intrest 
) and ill get my subscription back in no time 
ill try to get to the drawings all you ppl have done *points to the 4000 deviations 
* and ill try to thank everyone for the favs but idt i ccan so THANK YOU FOR ALL THE FAVS AND WATCHES!!!!!! i promise ill draw more and get rid of my block this summer
